Care & Sizing

We work with natural fibers and calm silhouettes. Care is simple, and sizing is clear. Every product page includes a guide tuned to its fabric and cut.

Fabric Care

Most pieces prefer a gentle cycle and cool air. If a fabric needs special attention, we will note it on the product page.

Linen

Cool gentle wash. Reshape and hang to dry. Steam or warm iron on the reverse. Linen softens with wear.

Cotton

Cold wash with like colors. Low tumble or air dry. Warm iron if needed.

Silk

Dry clean is best. If hand washing, use cold water and silk safe soap. Do not wring. Hang or lay flat to dry.

Modal / Jersey

Cold gentle wash. Lay flat or hang to dry to preserve drape. Avoid high heat.

Blends

Follow the garment label. If unsure, treat it like the most delicate fiber in the blend.

Simple Care Rules

  • Wash cool, inside out, with similar colors.
  • Skip harsh softeners and bleach.
  • Air dry when possible. Heat can stress fibers.
  • Store on padded hangers to keep the shoulder line clean.

Sizing Philosophy

Each Zailarah piece includes a size guide tuned to its fabric and silhouette. We use length based sizing for many abayas, and provide body measurements where helpful.

  • Use the Size Guide button on each product. It is tailored to that item.
  • Choose length first for abayas, then confirm bust and hips.
  • Between sizes? Linen runs a little relaxed. Jersey and modal have gentle stretch.

How to Measure

Bust

Measure around the fullest part, under the arms, with arms relaxed. Keep the tape level and comfortably snug.

Hips

Measure around the fullest part of your hips. Stand naturally. Do not pull the tape tight.

Length

For abayas, measure from the top of the shoulder down to your preferred hem point.

Tips

  • Measure over light clothing.
  • Use cm or inches. Our guides show both.
  • Flat measurements can vary by 2 to 3 cm due to fabric and construction.

FAQ

Do you offer alterations?

We do not alter in house, but many styles are easy to hem. Ask us for guidance on your chosen piece.

What if I am between two lengths?

Choose by how you like it to fall. Floor skimming, pick the longer length. Ankle grazing, pick the shorter. Heels also matter. Size up if you wear them often.

Can I return if the size is not right?
